Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is famous because Lord Vishnu removed the curse of Lord Shiva here, giving the name Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal.

🏛 Temple History

According to legend, Lord Shiva removed one of the heads of Brahma and was cursed with Brahmahatya Dosha. To remove this curse, Lord Shiva prayed to Lord Vishnu at Tirukkandiyur. Lord Vishnu appeared here and granted liberation from the curse. Because of this divine event, the temple became known as Hara Saabha Vimochana Perumal Temple.
